SatTracker Manual¶
Welcome to the SatTracker user manual.
SatTracker is a standalone desktop amateur-satellite tracker from TopBytes Ltd. A 7-inch capacitive touchscreen driven by an ESP32-S3 shows a live world map of the satellites you follow — with their ground tracks and radio footprints — a 12-hour pass timeline, and a detail panel giving the selected satellite's azimuth, elevation and range, a sky plot of its next pass, and its uplink and downlink frequencies corrected for Doppler shift while it is overhead. It can alert you a few minutes before a satellite you care about makes a good pass.
SatTracker focuses on the satellites radio amateurs can actually work: FM repeaters such as SO-50, AO-91 and the ISS, linear transponders such as RS-44, FO-29 and AO-7, APRS digipeaters, and the geostationary QO-100.
It needs nothing more than a 2.4 GHz WiFi network and a USB-C power supply. Orbital data is downloaded automatically and all pass predictions are calculated on the device itself.

Data Sources and Credits¶
SatTracker uses data provided by third parties:
Orbital elements (TLEs) are provided by CelesTrak (amateur radio satellite group).
Transmitter frequencies and modes are compiled from a TopBytes-curated list and the SatNOGS DB (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Coastlines are from Natural Earth (public domain).
Orbits are propagated on the device with the SGP4/SDP4 model (the SparkFun SGP4 Arduino Library, a port of David Vallado's reference implementation).
Regulatory and Safety Information¶
Per Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU, Article 10(9)
