Changelog¶
0.1.0 — October 2026¶
First release.
Tracking and Prediction¶
SGP4/SDP4 orbit model on the device; up to 12 tracked satellites
24-hour pass prediction (AOS, TCA, LOS, azimuths, maximum elevation), verified against the reference implementation
Daily orbital-data download from CelesTrak, cached in flash, with built-in fallback
Prediction waits for the clock to be set over the internet
Display¶
World map with coastlines, day/night terminator and grey line, satellite trails, and the selected satellite's footprint, recent and future track
Next pass of the selected satellite highlighted on the map with its AOS time
12-hour pass timeline, upcoming-passes table and polar sky plot
Live azimuth, elevation, range, altitude and range rate
Two themes: NEON and OPS, each with its own typefaces
Local clock with timezone, plus UTC
Top bar shows the satellite above your horizon now (with time to LOS) and the next good pass; satellites that are up are highlighted in the timeline
Frequencies¶
Uplink/downlink, mode, CTCSS and inverting-transponder details for 33 workable satellites
Live Doppler correction of uplink and downlink during a pass
Alerts¶
Good-pass alerts per satellite: configurable elevation threshold and lead time, with a second alert at AOS
Alerts wake the screen from night mode
Optional auto-select of each satellite at AOS (good passes or all passes)
Device¶
On-screen and hotspot WiFi setup; up to 3 saved networks; WiFi settings imported from other TopBytes firmware on first boot
Home location by Maidenhead grid square or coordinates; 18 timezones
Night mode, brightness, 180° rotation
Over-the-air firmware updates and device registration
Serial console with status, pass and orbital-data commands
